Bi-Weekly: 27 pay periods per year

Problem Details:

27 pay periods in a year happens sometimes for the bi-weekly pay frequency.  How does Sage deal with this situation?

Solution:

At the beginning of the calendar year, where 27 pay periods are expected, go to Payroll Setup / Options and open the Frequency tab.  By default, the Bi-Weekly frequency is set to 26 pay periods, however, this can be edited to 27.

There are tax implications in making this change, so it is best to set this at the beginning of the year (not just before the 27th pay run!).  Remember to set this back to 26 after the extra pay period year is ended.
