Error: "GLYRN: Read GLASV failed" occurs when running Create New Year

Problem Description:

The following error may occur when running the Create New Year function in General Ledger.

Internal error. GLYRN: read glasv failed. (1165glyrn1.c)

Cause:
GL segments, previously setup, have been deleted.

Solution:

This issue has been addressed in Sage 300 ERP 2014, Product Update 2 and Sage 300 ERP 2012 Product Update 4.  If the Create New Feature encounters a missing GL segment code; the fix displays a message that identifies the missing segment code, and provides direction for re-creating the segment code so that you can create the new year.

If you do not have those product updates installed, here is a workaround:

  1. Run the Data Integrity Check for the General Ledger module
  2. Check data integrity report to find the reference to the missing GL Segment(s).
  3. In General Ledger, click G/L Setup, then Segment Codes.
  4. Add the missing Segment Codes and save.

The message should no longer appear when you use the Create New Year feature.
