Trying to print forms from print boss gives the following error(s):
"It appears that the Default Windows Printer is set to the printer "PrintBoss50". This must be changed. PrintBoss should not be the Default Windows Printer."
Or "The printer you have selected, "PrintBoss 50" is using the PrintBoss Printer Driver. It is illogical for PrintBoss to print to itself, so the print job can't be printed."
One or both of these errors will come up when Print Boss has been setup to print to the PrintBoss50 printer. Print Boss must be set to print to a specific printer (for example HP LaserJet), and the form being used must be set to go to the PrintBoss50 printer. The form that is being printed, then goes to the print boss program, and the program sends it to the correct printer.
Check which printer is the default in Windows - Click Start / Control Panel / Devices and Printers. Your default printer will be identified by a check mark in a green circle. If the default is set to PrintBoss50, it must be changed. Click on another printer, then right click and 'Set as default printer'.
Check which printer is the default in PrintBoss - open the print boss program and click on File / Printer Setup. For either selection, 'Use Windows Default' or 'Specific Printer', ensure that neither one is set to the PrintBoss50 printer. Set to a physical printer.
Check which printer is designated on the specific form that you are trying to print - in Print Boss, click on Edit / Form Files and highlight the form you are printing. Then click on Editor. Go to the Multi-Parts & Printers tab. Check the 'Destination Printer/Device' column. Ensure the printer designated is not PrintBoss50. The printer designated here must be a physical printer (or pdf or email). .
When printing your form from Sage, send the form to the PrintBoss50 printer. This will send the form to the print boss program, and the print boss program will send the form to the correct printer.
