Invalid Database Specification when logging into Sage 300

Problem Details:

When trying to log into Sage 300 (Accpac) a "Invalid Database Specification" message displays and you cannot log into Sage 300.

Solution:

This message normally indicates a problem with the ODBC connection.  The user may not have sufficient rights to create the ODBC connection that Sage requires.  Log onto the workstation as a local administrator and launch Sage 300. Sage 300 will auto create the ODBC connection that is required to connect to the database, allowing the user to login to the company. Once you have successfully logged into the company (and the ODBC connection successfully created), exit Sage, then log off Windows. Now log back into Windows as the user having the issue. Since the ODBC connection has now been created, they should have no further issue logging into Sage.
