Transfer Equipment to a Different Site in Service Manager

Problem Details:

The customer has moved the equipment to a different location.  How can the equipment be changed from its original site to the new location? 



One of the simplest ways to transfer equipment is as follows:

Click on Service Manager, V/M Setup, V/M Equipment, and then Equipment. Select the piece of equipment and tab off that field. Change the Site field from where it is to where you want it to be. A warning message will appear asking you to confirm that you want to transfer the equipment from one site to the other. Say 'yes' and then save the record.

There are also several other ways within Service Manager, to transfer equipment:

  • Open Document Entry and click on the Search  button.  Locate the desired piece of equipment and click on the Transfer button on the right side of the screen
  • Open Document Entry and locate the work order the equipment is listed on.  Right click on the Phase and select Transfer Equipment
  • Go to VM Setup / VM Equipment and Equipment.  Click on the equipment tree  and from that screen select the Transfer icon, or click on Equpiment/Transfer.  This screen allows multiple pieces of equipment to be transferred at once.
